Steve Ashley is a career potter earning his living from his craft. He started in 1975 when he took an art class in college as a way to get more hours. He learned quickly and surpassed his teacher. His passion for his craft grew and from that point on he taught himself what he knows today.

During his 42 year career, he has developed a clay mixture of his own that is durable, microwave safe and dishwasher safe. He also developed his own glazes, picking colors and shades that blend with the clay type. The clay and glazes are lead-free and high fired (2250). He has said that he only uses one pound of clay per cup making them lightweight yet strong.
