Julie Sutton – Painting

Julie is a consignment artist and does not have shop hours.

Julie began her creative career writing and editing for Hallmark. From greeting cards to freelance writing (co-creator of the “Just Us Girls” line of products with illustrator Angela Jarecki), Julie eventually found her niche as a singer-songwriter and recorded several CDs of original music.

Her more recent transition to visual art, with informal training and mentoring from artist/muralist Amy Harvey, led to a passion for oil painting and pet portraiture along with sketches and colorful poster prints.

Julie lives in Winfield with her husband Paul. She home schooled their two sons, Josiah and Levi. She now teaches art classes at Ark City Christian Academy, Winfield Arts and Humanities, and Ark City Arts; and offers private instruciton to both children and adults.

Julie recently completed a 10-month mentoring program, receiving one-on-one instruction from oil painter and muralist Mark Flickinger. She and the other visual artists in the SEEDS Mentoring Program created a mural for Arkansas City, located south of the Chamber of Commerce on Summit Street.
