Artist Grant Charpentier has an undying love for creating art glass.  He first started creating art at age twenty one at Johnson County Community College. In 2004 he attended Emporia State University, double majoring with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an Emphasis in Glass Forming.  At Emporia State, Grant had the opportunity to assist several professionals including his instructors Patrick Martin and Roberta Eichenberg in glass.  During college he won several scholarships one being The Fenton Art Glass Collectors of America National Scholarship Award.  His glass is featured in galleries in Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas.  He finds influence through nature/man-made design elements and the natural aesthetics they create.  This can be seen in his glass through color, form, and texture.  Glass Forming intrigues him in multiple ways; mainly by the physical demand, camaraderie, danger, and forever being a student to the material.  Currently he rents glass time in Kechi, KS from glass artist Rollin Karg.  Aside from creating glass Grant is practicing his other passion as a Ceramics and Glass Forming Teacher at Emporia High School in Emporia, KS.
